EMPOWERING FUTURE BEAUTY ARTISTS
At LUXITA for Life, our scholarship program is at the heart of our mission to empower youth through education and skill development. We have partnered with Ice Kenny School of Beauty to educate. We believe that every young person deserves the chance to pursue their dreams, and our scholarships provide the necessary support to help them succeed in the beauty industry.
How it Works
Our scholarship program is designed to provide comprehensive support, ensuring that students can focus on their education without the burden of financial stress. Here’s how the process works:
1. Application Submission: Interested candidates can apply through our website or by contacting our team directly. Applications will require personal information, a statement of intent, and references.
2. Selection Process: Our team will review applications and conduct interviews to select candidates who align with our mission and demonstrate the potential for success in the beauty industry.
3. Comprehensive Support: Once selected, scholarship recipients will receive full funding for their education, which includes:
- Tuition fees for local cosmetology schools
- Room and board
- Food and transportation expenses
4. Hands-On Training: After completing their education, students will gain valuable hands-on experience by shadowing professional beauticians and artists in established salons, including those built through our container reconstruction initiative.
5. Community Engagement: Upon graduation, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to work in LUXITA for Life beauty salons or start one in their town, allowing them to earn a sustainable income while giving back to their communities.
Who can apply?
Our scholarship program is open to youth in impoverished areas of Uganda who are eager to learn and committed to making a difference in their communities. We currently are partnered with Ice Kenny School of Beauty and specifically seek individuals who meet the following criteria:
• Age: Applicants should be between the ages of 16 and 25.
• Desire to Learn: Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in cosmetology and beauty.
• Community Commitment: We prioritize applicants who are willing to give back to their communities, whether through training future students or providing beauty services to those in need.
• Financial Need: Preference is given to individuals who come from impoverished backgrounds and lack the means to pay for their education.
Meet our first scholarship recipient: Ibrahim
We are proud to introduce Ibrihim Lukenge , our first scholarship recipient. Ibrihim has demonstrated remarkable resilience and a deep commitment to helping children in his community. He has actively supported street children in his town and witnessed the devastating effects of malnutrition firsthand. With the support of Luxita for Life, Ibrihim is now a founding member of Luxita for Life and on his way to becoming a skilled beauty expert and nail artist, ready to uplift his community and inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
